The Horizon Team within Keel Point, a premier boutique and entrepreneurial Multiple Family Office located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, is adding to our Family Office Team.
The Family Wealth Manager is a key member of Horizon – Keel Point’s Family Office Team. This individual works under the direction of a Family Wealth Director and is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects, both short and long term, for client families. To do so they will need to coordinate with both internal and external teams to implement and follow through on strategies.
The Family Wealth Manager will need to clearly communicate (written and verbal) with colleagues, contracted professionals and at times with client families. In this position the individual will work alongside Family Wealth Directors in developing and delivering family office services – which range from technical solutions to tax, legal and estate planning needs, to family coaching and next generation mentoring services.
Specific responsibilities include :
Assist Family Wealth Directors in the development of overall strategic plans to serve the needs of Keel Point’s Family Office clients;
Lead and drive strategy/project implementation, which includes:
- Developing timelines with intermediate deadlines and establishing clear delegation of responsibilities to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects;
- Working with internal and external experts in tax, estate planning, investments, insurance, and financial management to identify and resolve technical and operational issues related to the strategy or project;
- Leading Family Office Associate who assist with various aspects of projects that address clients’ tax, estate planning, investment, and financial management needs;
Own the delivery of client services – including clearly communicating complex solutions to clients;
Serve as a technical resource to Family Office Associate for direction, guidance, and problem solving;
Plan and develop agendas for client meetings and for client’s family meetings;
Assist Family Wealth Directors in proactively identifying opportunities to meet the needs of individual client families;
Develop relationships with new and existing client families.
The ideal candidate will possess and reflect Keel Point Core Values. They will have excellent relationship skills and dedication to delivering first rate client service in a timely fashion. A bachelor’s degree is a prerequisite and a CFP® or CPA certification or a JD is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of experience in the financial services industry. The candidate will have a proven record of managing multiple projects at a time with high attention to detail and deadlines. Experience serving ultra-high net worth clients is helpful. Preference is given to candidates in the Washington, DC/Northern VA area, however strong candidates may work remotely elsewhere.
